Blogger Arrested By EFCC For Posting Fake Pictures – A Nigerian blogger identified as Mr Dikeocha Chukwuebuka has been apprehended by The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for posting Fake News about the organization.

Dike was arrested by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the EFCC. He was accused by the EFCC of publishing a fake picture of a crowded open cell on his Twitter handle @TheRealDayne, claiming it is the Port Harcourt office of the EFCC.

His arrest was made known to the public by the Port Harcourt Zonal Head of the Commission, Mr. Usman Imam. Briefing newsmen about Dike’s arrest he said the suspect was arrested in the premises of a new generation bank on Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.

Usman further assured the public that the EFCC will follow through this investigation and ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law

He further warned social media influencers to desists from posting information that don’t have a full background check.

The suspect Chukwuebuka who pleaded for mercy stated that the pictures he published belonged to another agency. He further tendered his apologies to the EFCC and his followers for reporting a fake news.
